Types of HR Profiles and Policies
Profiles are a collection of settings that you apply to user accounts and other areas of the system to establish security permissions, pay frequency, holiday schedule, and more. Profiles provide a convenient way to apply multiple settings to user accounts at the same time. You can add profiles to employee accounts individually or as a mass addition. You create profiles under Administration > HCM Setup > Company Settings > Profiles/Policies.
The following profiles are available to system administrators in an HR only company:
ACA (Affordable Care Act)
This module requires you to have the ACA Manager Marketplace product enabled at the company level. This product includes all the tools you need to track, manage, and create required government forms for your employees. You add this profile to the ACA Timeline widget in employee accounts and not in the Profiles widget.
Access
Access profiles specify a range of IP addresses (or a single one) from which a user can login or clock in.
Benefits
The Benefits menu contains all the elements you need to configure your employee's benefits plans and profiles.
Competency
Competency profiles contain user-defined competencies used in employee performance.
Dashboard Layout
Because the Dashboard Layout profile can be used among multiple combinations of product modules, it is not covered in this guide. It is fully covered in the Dashboards User Guide.
Data Retention
Demographic
In Dempgraphic profiles, you can configure the profile and demographic custom fields.
Employee Perspectives
Enable Employee Perspectives profiles at the company level to control the metrics Measures and tracks workforce performance by comparing planned with actual workload or coverage, or by showing variances at any organizational level. for measuring employee status.
Employee Sync
The Employee Sync profile does not appear in your menus unless your company has Multi-EIN functionality enabled. The purpose of this profile is to sync certain employee information from one EIN to another when you hire an employee into one of your other EINs and they already have a record in the Default EIN. Leave of Absence
Leave of Absence enables you to configure an approval workflow, qualifier questionnaire, schedule type, and categories. If Leave of Absence is enabled in your company, it appears under the Profiles/Policies menu. Leave of Absence is fully documented in the Leave of Absence User Guide.
Onboarding
The UKG Ready Preboarding Portal and Onboarding Dashboard tab can be utilized to increase engagement and promote company culture for new hires from the time their offer letter is signed through their first year of employment and beyond. This profile can be configured and assigned to new employees as they are onboarded and can be used to give the new hires account information and instructions.
Pay Periods
Pay periods determine the user's compensation schedule (such as weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, and so on).
Roles
These profiles allow you to define an employee's role in the company and then personalize the content served up when the employee accesses the links in the Help menu.
Security
Use Security profiles to establish the user's access privileges to system functions (such as configuration options and running reports).

Training
The Training profile contains courses/certifications for assigned employees.
