Transfer a shift

You can transfer a specific shift or shift segment worked by a specific employee to a different business structure (location and job), a different work rule, a different cost center (pay source), or a different labor category.

To transfer a shift:

  1. Right-clickTap a shift and select Edit . The Edit Shift slider appears.
  2. For the segment or segments to transfer, select Transfer Employee to display the transfer menu. If the transfer you need does not appear on the menu, select More... to define the transfer. The Transfer slider appears.
  3. For multiple assignments employees: The employee's assignment for the shift displays at the top of the Transfer slider. The Primary Location, Cost Center, and Labor Categories information that is shown corresponds to the assignment for the shift.

  4. Select the new transfer or transfers you need (business structure, work rule, payer cost center, or labor category) from one or more of the menus under these four headings.
    • If the required menu item is missing for Business Structure, select None to specify the required business structure, then select a location, and then a job.
    • Depending on your access rights, the jobs that display when you select Add Business Structure in the Transfer panel may only be employee-centric organizational jobs. These are the jobs that are included in the employee's transfer set, any additional jobs specified in the Manager Additions (configured in People Information), and the employee's primary job. This ensures that you select a job that is applicable for the employee.

Note: If you selected multiple employees, the list of available jobs that displays are those that are included in the job transfer set of the first selected employee and any additional jobs specified in the Manager Additions. If you choose a job that is not in a selected employee’s job transfer set or Manager Additions, that employee is not transferred.

    • For a Work Rule transfer, select the new work rule. If the required work rule does not appear, start typing the name of the work rule in the Search field. When the desired work rule appears, select it.
    • When you select an on-call work rule, all segments on the shift must have an on-call work rule specified with the same call-in rule.

    • If the required menu is missing for Payer Cost Center, select None to specify the required cost center. Select Select Cost Center, then either select cost center from the menu, or search for an unlisted cost center by typing in the first few letters of its name.
    • If the required menu is missing for Labor Category, select None to specify the required labor category. Select Select labor category, then either select the labor category from the menu, or search for an unlisted labor category by typing in the first few letters of its name.
  5. Select Apply to return to the Transfer slider.
  6. Repeat for all segments you want to transfer. There is no need to transfer breaks.
  7. Select Apply to make the change.
  8. Save your changes.
