Manage tiles
Tiles A container that provides navigation or action from its summary view. provide access to important content about your employees and organization. They can appear on your Home page The page that is presented to the user upon login, which contains the tiles that let the user access or navigate to common tasks. as a visual representation of a common task that you frequently perform, such as a current schedule, or a timesheet. They can also appear as a visualization of a metric, or other data summary, in the form of a pie chart or graph. You can show or hide tiles depending on what aspect of your business you want to view.
By selecting a tile, you can take action from the Home page, or navigate to the component that it represents for a closer view or to interact with the contents. For example, by selecting the Request Time Off tile, a slider opens on the right of the screen where you enter the details of your time off request and submit it immediately. Selecting a chart opens the Dataview A configurable tool for analyzing data and taking actions on a group of employees or an organization. interface where you can view and interact with the data that the chart illustrates. You can drill-down into the chart to focus on a specific aspect of the related Dataview.
Types of tiles
- Application-specific tiles that represent the tasks that are performed most frequently in an organization, such as
- Checking a schedule
- Viewing a timecard
- Punching The entries on a timecard that mark the beginning (in-punch) or end (out-punch) of a work interval, such as the beginning of a shift or transfer. in and out
- Charts that are graphical representations of metrics Measures and tracks workforce performance by comparing planned with actual workload or coverage, or by showing variances at any organizational level. or key performance indicators (KPI) Measures the result of an activity in an organization so that you can compare it to operational or strategic goals and attempt to improve performance. You can perform the following actions with tiles.
- On the bottom of the Home page click tap Tile Library
Click Tap . - Click Tap Select Tiles, click tap and select a tiles category:
- All - view all tiles that are in the Tile library.
- Standard - view only the standard tiles that came with the product or that the Administrator set up.
- My Charts - view the Charts that you created. For more about Charts, see Manage charts.
- Use Search to search for specific tiles by typing part of or the whole name in the text box.
- Select the tiles that you want to display on the Home page from the Tiles panel.
- Tiles already displayed on the Home page are shown with a blue check
in the upper right corner of the tile thumbnail. - Tile thumbnails in the Tiles panel are displayed in gray; they change to dark blue when you select them.
- A minus sign in the top right corner of the tile thumbnail indicates that the tile has been selected to be removed upon clicking Apply.
- Tiles already displayed on the Home page are shown with a blue check
- After choosing the Tiles, clicktap Apply to save the changes and close the library, or clicktap Cancel to cancel your selection.
- From the Home page, clicktap the drop-down arrow in the upper right corner of the tile you want to edit.
- ClickTap Refresh
to update your view of the tile. This action updates the underlying data in the chart.
- From the Home page, select the drop-down arrow in the upper right corner of the tile you want to hide.
- ClickTap Hide to hide the tile from view.
- ClickTap Settings
to open the Tiles library. To show a tile, select it. The tiles containing a check mark are displayed in the home page.
- To hide a tile, select a tile with a check mark and it changes to a minus sign. The tiles containing a minus sign are removed from the home page.
- ClickTap Apply.
To reorder the tiles on the home page, drag and hold the Tile while moving it to the new location.
