Sign-Off Restrictions
Sign-off restrictions limit a manager’s ability to sign off on a pay period when specific conditions are not satisfied. The system can be configured to impose one or more of these conditions.
Use the Sign-Off Restrictions page to:
- View the existing Sign-Off Restrictions.
- Add a row to add a sign-off restriction.
- Change the name and select or deselect options to edit an existing restriction.
- Click Delete this row to delete a sign-off restriction.
Use the following information to configure sign-off restrictions.
- Unexcused Absences — To qualify for sign-off, a timecard cannot contain any unexcused absences for the entire pay period. An unexcused absence is a day in which the employee is scheduled to work, but the employee’s timecard does not contain any punches The entries on a timecard that mark the beginning (in-punch) or end (out-punch) of a work interval, such as the beginning of a shift or transfer. or paycode A category of time or money that employees earn, for example, Regular Hours, Bonus, or Sick. edits that excuse the absence.
- Missing Punches — To qualify for sign-off, a timecard cannot contain any missed punches for the entire pay period.
- Zero Hours in Paycode — To qualify for sign-off, a pay period must contain hours accumulated in a specified paycode. A paycode that does not contain hours (a zero value) is not signed off. These hours include those resulting from worked shifts, paycode edits, internal paycode edits (such as holiday credits), and scheduled paycode edits. You can select a single paycode or a combined paycode.
- No Manager Approval — To qualify for sign-off, the timecard must have manager approval. If an employee is signing-off their own timecard and this option is selected, manager approval is still required before employee sign-off can occur.
The following conditions restrict a manager’s ability to perform a sign-off:
- Timecard Editor sign-off
- The entire time period and all time periods previous to the selected time period are validated against the active restrictions. If any of the restrictions are not satisfied, the employee is not signed off and a message appears explaining why the sign-off is not permitted.
